Behind the alter ego Alt-Benji is the Brazilian DJ and music producer Thales H. Pimenta, member of Solo Sagrado Crew & Bookings, in the Brazilian city of Porto Velho. Trained in lyrical singing with previous experience as vocalist with rock and metal bands, back at his subcultures of origin, the artist has been DJing professionally since the year of 2017, when he began to organize a wide collection of hi-tech, dark psy and psycore music in search of sonorities that were enchanting and fascinating, but within dense and obscure atmospheres, aiming to involve the dance floors in a kind of game playing experience on the dark side of fantasy.
In mixes of 170 to 200 bpm, Alt-Benji showcases caricatured and clumsy sound synthesis, futuristic and post-apocalyptic scenarios, elements of technology, mysticism and nature and aesthetics of adventure, danger, survival, which characterize the artist's identity. At the beginning of his music production studies, he was a student of PME-Experts courses and mentee of Payuh, head of Solo Sagrado Crew & Bookings. In addition to being an artist, Alt-Benji is a college professor at the Federal University of Rondonia, in Porto Velho, where he coordinates since 2023 the Laboratory of Electronic Music Studies.
